POSTDOC: Postdoctoral researcher, Biostatistical team, University of Bordeaux, FRANCE

Université de Bordeaux is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a strong track record in joint modelling and good computational skills to contribute to our research project in Cancer. The position is available in the Biostatistics team within the INSERM Bordeaux Population Health Research Center. This school of Public Health is a reference in France, particularly for its work in biostatistics, and in the epidemiology of Alzheimer's disease, AIDS and Cancer. The Biostatistics team includes permanent researchers, teachers and students. It develops dynamic models for longitudinal data and survival data, as well as multi-state models. The team develops new models and statistical methods for data from epidemiological studies and clinical trials.

 

As a postdoctoral researcher you will work on the development of new joint models for longitudinal and survival endpoints, the development of mechanistic approaches and implementation of these statistical developments through R packages. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the biostatistics team and to make innovative developments available to applied statisticians,  epidemiologists and clinicians.

 

To be considered you will have an MSc and PhD in Statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, applied mathematics, data science or similar scientific fields.

 

Expertise:

 
  • Experience with data analysis, dynamic joint modeling and mathematical/mechanistic modelling 
  • Proven track record in cancer modelling and/or clinical modelling
  • Experience with working in an interdisciplinarity context is desired as regular interaction with Biostatisticians, and stakeholders in the health care sector is anticipated.
  • You are a team player but capable of working in an independent way
  • An experience with working with Fortran or C programming will be appreciated.
 

The candidate will work in collaboration with different members of the Biostatistics Team.

The post is full-time and fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance.
