Medical Statistics Kings College London is looking to recruit candidates for the posts of: 

Research Associate or Research Fellow (three posts) in Medical Statistics

There are three posts within the statistics group of the Department of Population Health Sciences, led by Prof Janet Peacock. The postholders will be medical statisticians with a strong interest in clinical trials.

The appointments will be at the grade of Research Associate or Research Fellow, depending on knowledge, skills and experience (see the Person Specification criteria). For either grade, the appointee will have a PhD in applied statistics, or equivalent experience of conducting collaborative health research.

The postholders will be members of the Unit for Medical Statistics (N=21), and will be the study statisticians for some of our wide portfolio of trials, clinical studies and registries.

For one of the posts, the postholder will spend 50% of their time as a researcher and applied statistician, and the other 50% providing advice to investigators developing grant applications as a member of the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) team in London

Research and statistical projects: The postholders will engage in collaborative research with colleagues in the School and across King’s Health Partners. The role will involve working on recently funded clinical trials, analysing clinical studies and contributing to the development of funding applications for research. The postholder will be expected to develop their own research profile with support from senior colleagues.

Research design and statistical consultancy: The Research Design Service postholder will provide expert advice and guidance on developing a grant application to research teams who are submitting to national peer reviewed funding schemes, including advising on appropriate research methods and study designs. All three postholders will contribute to statistical consultancy across the Biomedical Research Centre and King’s Health Partners.

The selection process will include a presentation, an assessment and a panel interview.
