I obtained my Bachelor degree in Statistics at the University of Barcelona (UB) in 1995. Then, I obtained a University degree in Sciences and Statistics Technique’s at the University Politecnica of Catalunya (UPC) in 2005. My final degree project was entitled Accuracy and Variability when reading breast cancer screening mammograms, supervised by Prof. Xavier Castells Oliveres (IMAS, UAB) and Josep Anton Sánchez Espigares (UPC).

Since September 2015, I am a PhD student in the Statistics and Operations Research Doctorate Programme of UPC under the direction of Jordi Ocaña Rebull (UB) and tutored by Erik Cobo (UPC). My research is focused on generic drugs using adaptive designs (clinical trials) to ensure the protection of a false positive result (type I error). A first article was published:

Molins E, Cobo E, Ocaña J. Two-stage designs versus European scaled average designs in bioequivalence studies for highly variable drugs: Which to choose? Stat Med. 2017;36(30):4777-4788. doi:10.1002/sim.7452.
