Biosketch

I graduated in Biology at the University of Barcelona (1984) and obtained my Ph.D. in (1991) in the Department of Statistics of the University of Barcelona.  I am currently Associate Professor of the Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics Department of the University of Barcelona.

Research areas:

  • Statistical Methodology: Our study has focused on the geometric properties of populations and statistical individuals. Especially in the construction and analysis of the properties of statistical distances.
  • Bioinformatics: Application of non-parametric estimation techniques for the study of differential expression in the field of genomics.
  • Metabolomics: Statistical data analysis of metabolomic studies.
